Philippines Trip 09 – Pt 1

A nice cloudy day, the sound of car horns filling the air, fumes painting the sky, thousands of people running around destroying any meaning of a comfort zone… welcome to the Philippines! This trip so far has been an amazing trip! As many of you know in 2011 me, my wife and a few friends (David S., DJ, Lynnette, Khryz, and Joe P.) will be pioneering a church in Metro Manila Philippines and we were able to come together to take a few weeks to scout and soak in the culture of the Philippines.

My goal for this trip was just to come with eyes and heart open to see what God is already doing in this vibrant city. We were able to set up 3 specific meetings with key leaders of the city… Pastor Noel Pabiona (Director of Compassion International Philippines), Pastor Jesse Dedel (Director of Masters Commission Philippines), and Pastor Rey Lucion (SE Luzon District Supervisor of Foursquare). I truly believe these were divine appointments because each person reflected the heart of the call that God has placed in me. Pastor Noel has a pioneering passion and a heart for young professionals, Pastor Jesse has a heart to see the tools of the city (coffee shops, etc) used for the kindgom of God, and Pastor Rey wants to see the church back into the marketplace, and each pastor stressing the call for true discipleship! They not only took the time to just meet with us but they even offered to take time out of their vacation time to take us around the city. I know this is the beginning of an amazing network.

This is only a little excerpt of what God is doing here! I will update more soon!
